Our kura delivers an innovative curriculum focused on knowing and growing learners as individuals. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking curriculum leader to lead Senior Building and Construction and play a key role in growing our Trades Academy. This is an opportunity to shape high-quality vocational learning that equips learners with practical skills, recognised qualifications, industry experience and clear pathways into apprenticeships, further training and employment.
Our Trades Academy uses live building and renovation projects as real-world classrooms, enabling learners to work alongside skilled tradespeople and industry experts while developing confidence, capability and pride in their work. You will lead the Senior Building and Construction curriculum, ensuring strong programme design, teaching, assessment and moderation, while connecting classroom learning with authentic industry practice.
You will also help extend opportunities across curriculum areas, supporting a Trades Academy model that is sustainable, connected and responsive to future workforce needs. (3 hours release time)
We are looking for a credible, practical and solutions-focused leader who can build teacher capability, strengthen industry relationships and ensure programmes are safe, well organised, ambitious and responsive to learner needs.
All applicants must hold current full New Zealand teacher registration and a practising certificate, and be eligible to work in New Zealand.
